I have owned some deplorable sleep masks over the years. Usually, they have let in light. Alternately, they are uncomfortable. I have had some decent eye shades in the last few years, but I have tended to give them away to friends and family. So I turned to Amazon looking for some good ones again.
I prefer to sleep in total darkness. My best sleeping happens devoid of any light. My research has borne out what I long suspected– that the pineal gland of the body requires utter darkness to perfect its important work while we sleep.
I paid particular attention to the product description and the images of the available options before deciding on this sleep mask set. Three sleep masks are great because I will have one already at the ready even if we have a guest over and one is in the laundry. These products have the deeply molded pockets for your eyes that have worked well for me before. The mask also covers a wider area than some others, so that seemed a good sign.
After having used these nightly for about a month, I am happy I got this brand in this measure. These beauties do block out all light, even when I try to sleep in a bright room (we cannot always manage what is ideal for us). The material of the mask and the band are comfortable and do not inhibit sleep. Any eye covering can slip off the face while sleeping, but this has done so only a few times for me. That might have something to do with me being a person who barely shifts at all when asleep, but other masks have come off more frequently than these do.
The black and the blue are equally suitable for men or women. They would be ideal for transportation, be it private or public, and for traveling in general.
